Jockeys Take Over Racing.com for a great cause!
Racing.com will hand the reins of its broadcast to our jockeys this week for 'Jockey Takeover Week' in support of the National Jockeys' Trust.
Some of Australia's favourite hoops will join the Racing.com team across Raceday Live, Sectional Stars, Country Catch Up, The Trackwork Show and After The Last from Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23.
Chris Caserta & Cory Parish will kick things off on Monday's raceday coverage.
Jockey Takeover Week is not only designed to give riders a chance to ask the hard questions of their fellow jockeys, trainers and most importantly the Racing.com hosts, but also to raise awareness and funds for the NJT.
Injured jockey Jason Benbow has been instrumental in organising the week that will see a mix of leading metropolitan hoops, country jockeys and picnic riders feature on Racing.com.
"I would urge racing fans and punters to tune into Racing.com during Jockey Takeover Week to see some of their favourite riders as they've never seen them before," Benbow said.
"Jockey Takeover Week will highlight the work of the National Jockeys' Trust and also promote our exciting new Celebrity Golf Challenge at the end of the month.
"The National Jockeys' Trust relies on events such as the Celebrity Golf Challenge to continue to provide financial support to our members who require care and prevent unwanted medical bills during periods of injury."
To be held for the first time on Friday, August 30, the NJT's Hodges Celebrity Golf Challenge will take place at the magnificent Victoria Golf Course on Melbourne's famous sand-belt.
The event will see entrants team up with a celebrity for 18 holes of golf before a sudden-death playoff, which will result in one group walking away with a trip to Las Vegas to play in the World Shootout Golf Championship.
The National Jockeys Trust would like to sincerely thank Racing.com, Hodges and all the jockeys supporting this wonderful initiative.
