Sydney Raceday Luncheon A Great Success
The TAB National Jockeys Trust Race day luncheon was held on Saturday 21 September in the Grand Ballroom at Royal Randwick with more than 500 guests supporting the day and Glenn Munsie and Neil Paine as MC’s.
The day commenced at the Fallen Jockeys Memorial to remember the life of Larry Bradley who lost his life in a race fall in 1981 and Larry's family joined us for the occasion.
This fundraising luncheon has become an institution on the annual calendar of events for the National Jockeys Trust. This year's special guests included Director Rachel Griffiths who spoke about her new film “Ride like Girl" and artist Kaz Tuckwell who showcased her amazing “Rise Up” exhibition on Winx - a collection of 11 photographs that captures the story of her final race.
It's a day that's always well supported by the racing industry and this year was no exception with former jockey Clark Little donating an original oil painting of Winx and Tracy Thirup donating thousands of dollars worth of fragrances. But undoubtedly the most talked about and exciting raffle prize was a $9,500 diamond ring kindly donated by Nicholas Haywood Jewellery Concierge which one lucky person took home!
The National Jockeys Trust would like to thank everyone who attended and donated prizes, along withThoroughbred Breeders NSW for their support.
